These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Monkey Referrals (“we”, “our”, or “us”), including the website at monkeyreferrals.com, the business dashboard, the promoter portal, and the embeddable referral widget (together, the “Service”). By creating an account, signing in, adding the widget to a website, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
What Monkey Referrals does
- Businesses create referral programs, set reward rules and requirements, and add the Monkey Referrals widget (
mr.js) to their own websites. The dashboard shows referrals, conversions, and redemption requests. - Promoters get a unique referral code for each business, share their link or code, and can earn the rewards that business sets when people they refer sign up or buy.
Monkey Referrals provides the software that tracks referral codes, sign-ups, and confirmations. We are not a party to the relationship between a business and its promoters or customers.
Early access and fees
Monkey Referrals is currently offered as early access. It is free to join for businesses and promoters, and no credit card is required to get started. During early access, features may change, be limited, or be removed. If we introduce paid features, we will describe the pricing before you are charged.
Accounts and sign-in
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
- You can sign in with an email and password, a passwordless email link, a phone number and text-message verification code, or a supported third-party sign-in (Google, GitHub, Facebook, Apple, X, Microsoft, or Yahoo).
- Give accurate information, keep your sign-in methods and devices secure, and tell us promptly at support@
monkeyreferrals.com if you believe someone has used your account without permission. You are responsible for activity under your account. - If you create a business account, you confirm that you are authorized to act for that business.
Phone sign-in and text messages
- If you choose to sign in with your phone number, we send a one-time verification code to that number by text message (SMS). Codes are sent through Firebase Authentication, a Google service.
- A code is sent only when you request one. These messages are used only to verify sign-in; we do not send marketing text messages. Message frequency depends on how often you request a code.
- Msg & data rates may apply. Those charges come from your mobile carrier, not from Monkey Referrals. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Only enter a phone number that you own or are authorized to use.
- To stop receiving codes, stop requesting them and sign in another way, such as email or a third-party sign-in. For help, contact support@

Businesses
- You are responsible for your referral programs, including the reward rules, requirements, eligibility, and any program terms you show to promoters or customers.
- You are solely responsible for honoring and delivering the rewards you offer, approving or rejecting redemption requests, and any taxes, reporting, or other legal obligations connected with them. Monkey Referrals does not fund, pay, or guarantee rewards.
- Only add the widget to websites you own or control. The widget sends the email address, phone number, and name entered in your site’s form (when present), the page address, and referral details to Monkey Referrals. You are responsible for telling your visitors about this in your own privacy notice and for getting any consent the law requires.
- Your programs must comply with applicable laws, including consumer protection, advertising, promotion, anti-spam, privacy, and tax laws.
Promoters and rewards
- Rewards are offered and provided by each business, not by Monkey Referrals. The business decides who is eligible, what counts as a qualifying referral, the reward, and whether to approve a redemption. Questions or disputes about a reward should go to that business.
- Reward balances shown in the promoter portal are a record of referrals tracked for each business. They are not money held by Monkey Referrals and can be redeemed only with that business, under its rules.
- Share honestly. Follow each business’s program rules, do not make misleading claims, and make clear when you may earn a reward for a referral, as endorsement and advertising laws require.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to break the law or violate anyone else’s rights.
- Send spam or unsolicited emails or text messages with referral links or codes.
- Create fake accounts, make fake or self-referrals, or otherwise manipulate referral tracking or rewards.
- Add the widget to a site you do not control, or use it to collect information without proper notice.
- Interfere with, overload, scrape, or reverse engineer the Service, or get around its security or access limits.
- Impersonate another person or business, or upload content that is unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or harmful.
Your content
You keep ownership of the content you add to the Service, such as a business name, description, profile image, and program details. You give us permission to host, store, and display that content, including on public business profiles and in the business directory, as needed to operate the Service. You confirm that you have the rights to share it.
Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, including Google Firebase (authentication, text-message verification codes, database, hosting, and file storage), SendGrid (email delivery), and the sign-in providers you choose. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to your use of them. We are not responsible for third-party services or for the business websites where the widget runs.
Changes to the Service
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, including during early access. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be available or uninterrupted.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not guarantee that every referral will be tracked. Tracking depends on the widget running on a business’s website and on the visitor’s browser, which may block scripts or clear stored referral codes. We are not responsible for any business’s programs, offers, or rewards.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Monkey Referrals will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, or for rewards a business does not provide. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim or US $100.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold Monkey Referrals harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your referral programs, rewards, content, or violation of these Terms or the law.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and can ask us to delete your account by emailing support@
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute relating to these Terms or the Service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Florida, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of Monkey Referrals after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
